Since 2014, our team has designed over 340 itineraries focused on historically significant sites dating from the 17th century through the Industrial Revolution era. Each route is developed in consultation with local historical societies and regional preservation organizations.
Itineraries include stops in towns established between 1620 and 1850, such as Salem, Newport, and Portsmouth. Walking routes pass through preserved colonial districts with buildings dating to the 17th and 18th centuries.
Routes follow the Atlantic shoreline from Mystic, Connecticut to Bar Harbor, Maine. Stops include working fishing harbors, lighthouse stations, and maritime museums with exhibits on regional seafaring history.
Our team consists of four route designers, one research librarian, and three support staff members. Route designers hold degrees in history or related fields: two Bachelor of Arts degrees (University of Vermont, University of New Hampshire), one Master of Arts in Public History (Northeastern University, 2015), and one PhD in American Studies (Boston University, 2010).

The standard itinerary package includes the following deliverables: one printed guidebook (80-120 pages), one digital PDF copy, one regional road map with annotated route, one pre-departure consultation call (45-60 minutes), and access to our traveler support line (Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time) for the duration of the scheduled trip.

Refund and cancellation policies are designed to cover incurred costs while remaining fair to travelers. Full refunds are available if cancellation occurs before research begins (within 48 hours of order placement). Partial refunds (50%) are available if cancellation occurs during the research phase (days 3-14). No refunds are available after guidebook production begins (day 15 or later).
New England weather patterns affect travel conditions from October through April. Itineraries are adjusted seasonally to account for site closures, road conditions, and daylight hours.
All listed sites operate during this period. Fall foliage routes from late September to mid-October require booking accommodations 3 to 4 months in advance. Average daytime temperatures range from 55°F to 80°F.

Route modifications are available at no additional cost for the first 14 days after delivery. Changes might include adjusting the number of daily stops, swapping sites, or shifting the route to a different starting town.
